The Jewish Community center in Doboj is a religious community of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens of Jewish origin, founded in 1871 and it has been interacting and working to the present day.
The Jewish community center in Doboj is dedicated to the preservation of the Jewish religion, Judaism, traditions and their identity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the promotion and preservation of peace, cultural and economic cooperation among all nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the Jewish community it is very important to fulfill the missions in the public space, as well as mutual work with others. As a community we were able to enjoy in human rights only in society with pluralistic democracy. Our vision is to promote good interpersonal and interreligious relations, tolerance and compromise among all nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and eradicate racial, religious, ethnic and all other forms of discrimination. We recognize that achieving this goal requires an enormous effort and work, but we want to give our contribution to the common achievement of these goals and improving the lives of all citizens in this part of the world.
The Jewish community center in Doboj is registered at the appropriate state and entity authorities. First of all, 16.11.2005 The Jewish community center in Doboj is registered at the Ministry of Justice as a religious community, then, 15.12.2006 the Jewish community center in Doboj is registered in the register of the Republic Institute for Statistics, and then at the Tax Administration in the Ministry of Finance of Republic of Srpska. Financing sources are mainly dues, help from Jewish Social Fund, contributions and grants from Ministries and the Government, the City of Doboj and international donors. Our organization has a President, Assembly, Steering Committee, Supervisory Board, Secretary, Religious Service, and the Court of Honor, which form the backbone of the organization and who care about the dignity of the Jewish community center in Doboj.
Currently in Bosnia and Herzegovina exists five Jewish Communities, in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Zenica, Tuzla and Mostar. The Jewish Municipality in Doboj is a member of the Society of Jewish Communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of National Minorities of the Republic of Srpska.
