Call for emergency support for “Bet Shalom” synagogue and Jewish community center in Doboj

The Jewish Center „Bet Shalom“ Doboj, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, historic building is facing a serious crisis. Whether you are Jew, a someone who cares about Jewish life and cultural heritage, or a simply a person with philanthropic orientation – we urgently need your help! Our almost hundred year building’s walls have been damaged by water infiltration.
They must be repaired and reinforced now to preserve the integrity of the building. Furthermore, we have to arrange the yard, improve the lighting of the building, make the façade of the building and install solar panels for the self-sustainable production of electricity for the needs of the building, primarily for heating the rooms.
This building is also our home. JCC Doboj has built a special community within these masonry walls; one infused with a love of Jewish life and spirituality. JCC Doboj is home to an extended family of Jews who learn, daven, and celebrate together, rely on one another for comfort and inspiration and regularly engage beyond these walls with Tikkun Olam (efforts to repair the world). We are a community in the truest sense of the word.
Presently the community does not have the financial resources to perform the repairs and there is no perspective to raise the money from its usual sources of income. We turn to you, hopeful that you could help us with this urgent task. Your

financial support will help us preserve one of the most beautiful synagogues in Balkan to remain a religious home for the Jews in Balkan and every benevolent guest.
Construction on our building will start as soon as we collect enough resources, can you take us further towards raising the overall funds needed to make our building safe? Your donation will go directly to preserving the building, to ensure that JCC Doboj can continue to have a physical space in which to provide so much for so many.
